Talissa Makdessi (b.1989) is a Swedish/Lebanese documentary photographer and director based in London, UK.
Talissa’s work explores evolving wild spaces and cultural heritage considering the historic, environmental and economic argument for documentation.
She aims to inspire an interest in the relationship between ourselves and the world we inhabit by creating emotive and informative imagery/video.
Talissa spent 18 months living in a van in New Zealand and 6 months backpacking South America.
She is currently working towards a long term project on pilgrimage, completing the Camino de Sanitago in May ‘24 and due to walk the Via Francigena [Canterbury to Rome] in May ‘25.
